If it doesn't automatically install the virtual com port once the pinpad is plug in. You can download the driver from here http://www.datacapepay.com/equinox/

1. Extract the driver to the computer.
2. Plug in PIN pad.
3. Wait for Device Setup to complete.
4. Navigate to Control Panel > Device Manager.
5. Under Other Devices, right-click Gadget Serial and choose Update Driver Software.
6. Click Browse my computer for device software.
7. Browse to the extracted USDebit folder from earlier in this procedure > L5300 Serial Driver > installer_package > x86 or x64 (based on your operating system) > operating system version folder. (If using Windows 8, choose the Win7 folder.)
8. Click Next.
9. Click Close when the wizard completes. The PIN Pad should now appear as Hypercom L3xxx in the Device Manager.
10. You must have your supplier install the datacap forms before they ship it to you.
11. This device is now available for Vantiv IP EMV

• RS232 Serial does not require a driver. DO NOT ORDER the IO block 132-601-00-R which as 3 serial ports, the third serial port which has the 9 PIN connector will not work.
• USB driver will download from Microsoft update and create a virtual Serial Port. Some configuration of the device may be necessary, If you press keys 1, 5, 9 simultaneously, FormAgent will stop and the System Mode menu will be displayed. You will need your password. Press tab Administration, then tab Config and Configuration File - config.usr1. You need to scroll down to “commtype'. Select this parameter and change it from RS232 to USB. Then press Enter. The field below this 'CP' is the I/O block comport (not the computer com port). You may need to change this depending on which comport you are using on the MX915. Select Home again at the top and press the Reboot button. USB driver can also be downloaded from http://www.datacapepay.com/verifone/
• Full testing of this device is not complete. It is not known if it will work over WAN Terminal Services, though does appear to work over LAN Terminal Services using RS232 Serial port redirection.
• You must have your supplier install the datacap forms before they ship it to you. If you turn it on and it says “Lane Closed” instead of “Welcome” then the datacap forms were not loaded.
• The mx915 is slower than the Equinox L5300 and the contactless reader is not as good.
• Under setup wizard→credit/debit card verification→payment processor then click credit card under Process as Credit or Debit make sure that Do not prompt option is enabled.

Configuration of these devices is simple. In System Five, Setup Tools, SetupWizard, Credit/Debit Card Verification Options, Payment Processor (3rd Tab), Debit Cards; select:

• Debit Pin Pad Type - Datacap dsiPDCX
• Select Serial port (or virtual USB/Serial port)
• Select Equinox Payments L5300 or VeriFone Vx810 running XPI
• Select Pin Pad Type L5300 or Vx810
• The Test Initialization button will test your installation.

• Setupwizard, Point of Sale Devices, Signature Capture
  
• Select Datacap dsiPDCX devices.
  
• Check Use Sig Capture for Credit Cards.
