The data53.zip error is displayed after logging into System Five as shown in Figure 1.

There are a couple of steps that can be performed to clear the data53.zip error.
The first step is to check the shared Windward folder on the server and ensure the permissions are set to allow read and write access to this folder.
Windows XP
For peer-to-peer setups on a Windows XP operating system, ensure that the setting to “Allow network users to change my files” as shown in Figure 2 is activated. The setting to “Allow network users to change my files” is deactivated in Figure 2, which causes the data53.zip error.

Windows 7
To allow the same sharing on Windows 7 is a little more complicated. First, select “Share” as shown in Figure 3. Then, in the window that pops up, select “Share” and then select “Done”.
Once that is done, verify the user permissions. To do that, select “Advanced Sharing” as shown in Figure 3 and then “Permissions” in Figure 4.
Make sure that “Everyone” is selected and then verify that all 3 boxes are checked as shown in Figure 5.

If permissions configurations look correct then the error might be with the program files not matching the system five data files.
The data53.zip error may be raised because the data files for the System Five workstation are not up to date. This may be a result of a failed or incomplete update on the main server. Select “Download” as shown in Figure 6.

Select next until the window shown in Figure 7 is displayed. Ensure that the option for the System Five data files is selected. If the option to update the data files is greyed out then the System Five data files are at the most recent version.
To further troubleshoot, review the permissions settings shown in the previous section.
