This page covers loading a CipherLabs application onto a handset so the unit can be used to perform stocktaking functions.

• Download THIS FILE to your computer and extract it.
• Open Windows Explorer and browse to the location where the files have been extracted and run the AG8000.exe program.

• Click the power button at the bottom right corner of the Application Generator and select Open from the menu.

• Using the Open dialog box, browse to where the files were extracted. Select the ww.AGX and click Open.

• The applications loads automatically. Click the OK button to close the program and go back to the Appliation Generator program.

• Click the power button at the bottom right corner of the Application Generator and select Preferences from the menu.
• Use the Com Port field to select the serial port that the cradle is installed on and the Baud Rate the serial port is set to. Click Apply.

• The handset must now be set to accept the program.

• Turn the handset on.
• Select 3.Utilities from the menu followed by 1.Settings and then 3.Baud Rate.
• Select the Baud Rate from the menu that corresponds to the serial port baud rate.

• Turn the handset on.
• Select 3.Utilities from the menu followed by 6.Load Program.
• Place the handset in the cradle.

• Click the power button on the Application Generator and select Download Application from the menu.

• The program is transferred to the handset. If everything is set correctly a status dialog box will appear.
• The Download dialog box appears when the program has finished transferring. Click OK to clear this.

• Click the power button on the Application Generator and select Exit from the menu.

• Click No when promted save the application. The Application Generator closes with no changes to the program.

• PROBLEM: Terminal Not Ready error appears when trying to download the program.

• SOLUTION 1: Mismatched Baud Rates between the handset, Application Generator and Windows serial port.
  1. In Windows, check the baud rate that is set on the serial port being used for the cradle and write this down.
  2. In the Application Generator click the power button at the bottom right corner and select Preferences from the menu. Set the Baud Rate field to the same value as the baud rate noted in the previous step. Click Apply.
  3. On the handset follow the steps from the above heading Changing the handset Baud Rate.

• SOLUTION 2: Mismatched serial ports between the Application Generator and the physical port.
  1. In Windows, check the serial port number that the cradle is plugged into and write this down.
  2. In the Application Generator click the power button at the bottom right corner and select Preferences from the menu. Set the Com Port field to the same number the serial port noted in the previous step. Click Apply.
