- Connect the parallel cable from the printers parallel port to the computers parallel port.
- Turn the printer on. If it does not turn on, verify the power cord has been plugged in.
- In Windows, navigate to Start > Control Panel > Printers and Faxes, and click on Add Printer.
- Select Local printer attached to this computer. Uncheck Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer, and click next.
- Under use the following port, select LPT1: Recommended Printer Port and click *next.
- You will be presented with a manufacturer driver list. Under the manufacturer tab select Generic. Once selected Generic, select Generic / Text Only and click next.
- Rename the printer what you want to name it to, and click next.
- Click Finish and now you have successfully added a Parallel Thermal Printer!
