Problem Description

How to add tax in the bill entry?

Solution

If you live in Canada or any jurisdiction where you are expected to pay an input tax credit on inventory purchase you can use the tax (G.S.T)button at the top of the bill to help you with that task. You have 2 options 1]. Add tax (G.S.T)on current item 2.] Add tax to the total. We add tax to current , it would look at the item you currently hightlighted or selected, highligthing the entry and clicking on Add G.S.T to current item it would only calculate the tax percentage of this item. If I add tax (G.S.T) tax to the total it is gonna calculate it by all the account entries. It will pull out the 1080 account in the general ledger and putting the tax rebate comment. The 2 other options which deduct tax you would use in a case that your supplier has given you a lump sum total that includes the tax in this case its gonna back out the percentage and it will decrease the total amount and there\'s a deduct amount option to that I can add where I can simply type in what the amount would that be , instead of calculating the percentage you can simply type in ex. 10 dollars that would take 10 dollars off my amount as well as adding to the tax rebate account, so depending on the information your given from your supplier these options maybe used in variety of different ways and may all be used in your business
