This tutorial demonstrates 6 steps required to set up the feature allowing you to use a barcode scanner to automatically start and stop a clock to track the time spent by a technician or mechanic for labor on an invoice or work order.

The steps are: 1- programming all scanners with a preamble code

2- saving the preamble code in the Setup Wizard

3- creating a User Label to print the employee's number represented by a barcode

4- setting up each technician/mechanic as a User in System Five and creating the employee record

5- selecting the Clerk/Mechanic options in the Invoice Setup section in the Setup Wizard
